Wednesday, October 15, 7pm – 8:30pm

Free and open to all

Tongva After Dark concludes its first season of cultural programming with an evening of performances by superlative artists. Experimental puppetry artists Janie Geiser, Susan Simpson and the duo of Yao Zhang & Liang Guo, Choreographer Mecca Vazie Andrews & The MOVEMENT Movement, Soprano Karina Kallas & early music guitarist and lutenist Ines Thomé will perform in the various intimate “rooms” of Tongva Park. Audiences will be invited to stroll through the paths, architectural features and ocean vistas of the park to discover the overlapping and, at times, simultaneous performances at their own pace and in their own order. The program is designed to take advantage of the unusual geography of the park, which includes a diversity of exquisitely shaped, small spaces planned by James Corner Field Operations, the creative force behind the High Line in New York.

On Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, this interdisciplinary line-up of extraordinary artists will be presented one night only by the City of Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division. The event is free and open to everyone.

Tongva After Dark is a series of intimate and informal events which offer audiences the opportunity to experience this major new addition to Santa Monica’s park system from different points of view.

Tongva Park is located at 1615 Ocean Ave., Santa Monica. Parking is available at the Civic Center Parking Structure, 333 Civic Center Drive.
