a. Monthly Operations Report 

Information relating to aircraft operations, curfew departures, noise violations, and aircraft noise complaints received for the months of December 2020 and January 2021. 


b. Airport Leases 

This item is presented to the Airport Commission for information purposes only. List of leases for Airport properties currently under consideration by the City.


c. Airport Property Management Report

This item is presented to the Airport Commission for information purposes only. Report to provide an overview of property leasing and management related to the Santa Monica Airport.


d. Next Airport Commission Meeting 

The next Airport Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 22, 2021 via teleconference; agenda submittal deadline is March 15, 2021. Discussion to change the time of the meeting to 4 p.m. during the COVID Emergency.

a. Installation of Obstruction Lights in the Neighborhood   

      Information and discussion regarding FAA obstruction lights being installed on utility

      poles near the Airport (continuing discussion from the January 11, 2021 meeting). 


b. Report by the Committee on Safety at SMO

      Report by the ad hoc safety committee (which was formed at the October 26, 2020



c. Parks Master Plan

 Discussion regarding the Parks Master Plan, which was scheduled to be made

public on March 23, 2020 and presented to the Airport Commission at the April 7, 2020 meeting.

Mission Statement

The Airport Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to the Municipal Airport and to aviation matters generally to the extent that they affect the City.

The Airport Commission has five members, each serving a four-year term. Commissioners must be qualified electors of the City of Santa Monica and may not hold paid office or employment in the City government (SMMC City Charter Article X 1015).  The Airport Commission shall have power and be required to: (a) Act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to the Municipal Airport and to aviation matters generally to the extent that they affect the City; and (b) Consider and recommend City Council rules and regulations for the management and operation of the Municipal Airport. (Amended at General Municipal Election, November 7, 2006; certified by Res. No. 10187CCS)
