Advanced Traffic Management System Phase 4A & 4B

Project Information

Phases 4A and 4B of the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Project connected 40 signal-controlled intersections along Arizona Avenue, the Office District on Ocean Park Boulevard, and Mid-City areas to the City’s centralized control system with fiber optic cables.  The project included installation of new conduit and modification of the existing interconnected conduit system to accommodate fiber optic cable.  Upgrades to traffic signal infrastructure rangde from a full replacement of all the traffic signal equipment to less extensive upgrades such as the installation of new controller cabinet and video detection and/or video surveillance cameras.

Construction began in January 2012 and was completed in February 2013.
