Parking Meter and Repair
The Parking Meter Repair sector is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of parking meters. This includes approximately 5,900 parking meters in the City of Santa Monica.

Santa Monica parking meter sensors that reset the meter after each use.
There are a few adjustments to how they are used:
- You are now able to pay for parking via credit card or with coins.
- The sensors require customers to pay for all of the time they park at the space by resetting the meter when a vehicle vacates the spot. The sensors ensure compliance with existing time limit restrictions by preventing the same vehicle from parking beyond the posted time limit, thus freeing up space for other cars.
