Street Sweeping and Sidewalk Cleaning
|
UPDATE: Street sweeping resumed in all zones beginning June 1, 2020, once per month.
The City of Santa Monica maintains a street sweeping program to comply with provisions of the federally mandated Clean Water Act. Street sweeping helps to remove pollutants which can potentially reach the Santa Monica Bay. How often are the streets swept? Street sweeping in the beach parking lots and in the Downtown area will continue as scheduled. Beginning June 2020, residential streets and alleys will be swept on a monthly basis, during the first full week of the month. >> Click here to view the street sweeping schedule.
Do I need to move my car for street sweeping City staff requests that you park your cars off the street on your scheduled sweeping day. Sweeping around parked cars requires more time and is a dangerous maneuver. Moving your cars will allow the sweeper to do a better job for you and your neighbors. Citations for parking violations based on street sweeping remain suspended until June 30, unless further extended. >>Learn more.
