Utility Information
Both publicly and privately owned utilities serve the City of Santa Monica. Some of these utility providers include:
City-Owned Utility Records
The City operates and maintains its own sewer and water utilities and has other substructre in the public right-of-way, including stormwater facilities, street lighting, and fiber optic (CityNet). To request records of City-owned utilities, please submit a Public Records Request on the City's Public Records Request Center.
When submitting a request for City-owned records, please keep the following in mind:
- All requests are processed pursuant to the California Public Records Act.
- Each project location (address, intersection, etc.) must be submitted as a separate request.
- Staff resources for processing requests are limited; you are requested to limit your agency's requests to 2-3 at a time.
