Wastewater Capital Facility Fee


The Wastewater Capital Facility Fee is a one-time fee representing the estimated reasonable cost of providing system capacity to new development.

When is this fee required?
  • Single-Family Residence -- for construction of a new residence or whenever a bedroom is added.
  • Multi-Family -- for construction of a new building or whenever new units are added.
  • Non-Residential -- for construction of a new building or whenever there is a change of use, adding square footage, or adding restaurant seating.
Fees:
  • Single-Family:
    • Construction of a new residence -- $2,239.00
    • Adding bedrooms to an existing residence -- to be determined by the Civil Engineering Division 
  • Multi-Family:
    • For each additional 1-Bedroom or Single Unit -- $1,168.00
    • For each additional 2-Bedroom Unit -- $1,557.00
    • For each additional 3-Bedroom Unit -- $1,947.00
  • Non-Residential -- to be determined by the Civil Engineering Division
Credit will be given for what is existing.  Fees are collected only for what is new.

City of Los Angeles Wastewater Capital Facility Fee

As of July 1, 2008, the City also collects from our customers the City of Los Angeles' Wastewater Capital Facility Fee as required by our sewage treatment disposal contract. The fee is dependent on existing and proposed land use and will be calculated by the Water Resources Division.
