Third Street Neighborhood Historic District – Citizen Participation Committee (CPC)
The City of Santa Monica is currently accepting Third Street Neighborhood Historic District Citizen Participation Committee applications. The purpose of the Citizen Participation Committee is to review applications for Certificate of Appropriateness requests prior to the Landmarks Commission’s public hearing on these applications. Although the Committee has no power to approve or deny these applications, it does serve to provide comments and recommendations for the Commission’s consideration. Each appointee may serve up to a four-year term.
Am I Eligible to Apply for Appointment?
Any resident of the City of Santa Monica is eligible to be appointed by the Landmarks Commission for a position on the Citizen Participation Committee. The Committee rules recommend that the group’s composition be made up of not more than two Landmarks Commissioners, two residents of the historic district, and one at-large member who is a resident of the City. Committee members are appointed by the Landmarks Commission.
Applications are currently being accepted for the following two (2) positions:
• One (1) In-District Resident CPC Member
• One (1) At-Large CPC Member
How Do I Apply?
The application is available through the link below, and is also available at the City Planning Division of the Planning and Community Development Department at City Hall, 1685 Main Street, Room 212.

Please submit a completed application no later than Friday, November 30, 2018.
It is anticipated that the Landmarks Commission will make appointments at its December 10, 2018 meeting.
