Pico Neighborhood Plan
The Pico Neighborhood Plan is now the Pico Wellbeing Project
The Pico Wellbeing Project is a community-led effort to provide residents and businesses with support to improve all aspects of wellbeing, including health, learning, economic opportunity, and connectivity. This priority project of the Santa Monica City Council is a recommended implementation action of the 2010 Land Use and Circulation Element (LUCE) of the Santa Monica General Plan and is inspired by local interested stakeholders of the Pico neighborhood to address zoning standards regarding neighborhood scale, affordability, housing mix, parking, and other issues. Emerging themes of concern in the neighborhood include growing real estate pressure, access to local services, and maintaining cultural diversity. Pico is the city’s most diverse neighborhood with a wealth of community groups, parks and public spaces, faith-based institutions, and cultural assets.
