Q: How do I schedule an inspection?
A: An inspection can be scheduled for constructions projects that have an active building permit by visiting the City's Online Inspection Scheduling System
Q: Why can't I schedule an inspection?
A: There are several reasons that could prevent a customer from being able to schedule an inspection. Some of the more common reasons include:
- The inspection category/type requested has already been approved for this project.
- The building permit has expired.
- There are pending permit holds from other City departments/divisions such as Business License, Water Resources, City Planning, or Urban Landscape. Email BuildingInspection@santamonica.gov for more information.
- The project is pending inspection approval from the Fire Department.
Q: I have scheduled an inspection, but what time will the inspector visit my site?
A: The Inspection Scheduling System will notify you on the morning of the scheduled inspection date. Additionally, inspection window times for the day's scheduled inspections can be viewed on the Scheduled Permit Inspections page
Q: Who will be the assigned inspector?
A: An inspector will be assigned on the morning of the scheduled inspection day and can be viewed on the Scheduled Permit Inspections page.
