This large, elegant Spanish Colonial Revival style apartment building is one of the best examples of the type and style in Santa Monica and appears to have experienced few modifications since it was last evaluated in the 1995 survey update. As such, the property is designated as a City of Santa Monica Landmark. Given that the property expresses an aesthetic and architectural ideal of the Spanish Colonial Revival style as applied to an apartment building with a high level of integrity, it appears that the building continues to remain individually eligible for National Register and California Register listing. Further, the property remains a contributor to a potential thematic district of Elegant Apartments in the north of Wilshire neighborhood. http://gismap.santa-monica.org/website/landmarkphotos/1001_3rdSt.jpg
