A Swiss Chalet influence characterizes this Craftsman style triplex that was originally a single-family residence. The dwelling appears to have experienced few visible alterations since the building was last surveyed in 1994 and remains a well designed and architecturally distinctive example of the Craftsman style. Its conversion to a triplex in 1924 was a precursor of what would occur in the north of Wilshire neighborhoods during the 1920s and 1930s. Although the property does not appear to be individually eligible for listing in the National Register or California Register, it continues to appear eligible for listing as a City of Santa Monica Structure of Merit. Note: Previous surveys identified this property as having a 1016 5th Street address.
