Procurement Policies
Procurement Policies outlines the various ordinances, policies and programs related to sustainable procurement that the City of Santa Monica has introduced over the past 20 years. For a list of formal policies, check out the Responsible Purchasing Network website.Santa Monica is committed to making procurement decisions which minimize negative environmental and social impacts, protect the public health and save staff time, resources, and money.

The procurement of products and services by the city results in environmental and social impacts both in this country and in other areas of the world.  The policy emphasizes long-term values to protect against unnecessary impacts and is intended to become a model for other public as well as private organizations to follow. The policies apply to city programs and services in all areas.
