Pier Bridge Replacement Project
About the Project
of Santa Monica, in cooperation with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), will replace the Pier Bridge with a new
multi-modal bridge to meet current seismic and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. This project entails demolition of the existing Pier bridge and construction of a new bridge structure. The Pier bridge, constructed in the early 1940’s, extends approximately 500 feet west from the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Colorado Avenue to the Santa Monica Pier.
