Santa Monica City Attorney's Office Consumer Protection Division 
Hosts 2019 Fair Housing Workshop

The Consumer Protection Division of the Santa Monica City Attorney's Office, along with the Santa Monica Rent Control Board, Santa Monicans for Renters Rights, Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA) and ACTION Apartment Association will co-sponsor the workshop Fair Housing Issues in Rental Housing on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Santa Monica Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd. Provided during National Fair Housing Month, the workshop is part of the City's and its partners' ongoing efforts to increase awareness of the fair housing laws.

The presenters include Chancela Al-Mansour, Executive Director of the Southern California Housing Rights Center; Shanley Hopkins, law firm of Kimball, Tirey and St. John; Denise McGranahan, Senior Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles; Lucie Loach, Housing Authority Administrator for the Santa Monica Housing Authority; and Deputy City Attorney Gary Rhoades from the City Attorney’s Office. 

All owners, property managers, attorneys, social service providers, and tenants are invited to attend free of charge. A continental breakfast will be provided and parking at the library will be validated.
