Debbie Lee - photo As City of Santa Monica’s Chief Communications Officer, Debbie Lee oversees the city’s robust communications and is an integral member of the City Manager’s senior management team. She serves as the city’s chief spokesperson and directs the city’s integrated communication strategy program over various platforms including video production, City TV programming, print publications, web management, online communication and social media activities. Lee coordinates communication strategies with Council, departments, external agencies and neighborhood organizations to promote transparency of city programs and initiatives.

Lee’s experience is deeply rooted in Santa Monica. Prior to joining the city team, she served as Vice President of Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. for eight years overseeing marketing, special programs, and community involvement. Her responsibilities included website management, social media, public relations, community relations, crisis communications management, event production and government relations. She worked frequently with community organizations, the Santa Monica business community, elected officials and the media. During her time with the Santa Monica Convention and Visitors Bureau, Debbie served as Vice President of Business Development, responsible for brand development, production of marketing materials, media relations, community relations and website management.

Beth is responsible for helping oversee the operational functions of the Office of Communications and administers Santa Monica’s neighborhood organization matching grant program. Her recent experience includes being Santa Monica’s first principal transportation planner playing a key role in the Pedestrian Action, Downtown Community Plan, managing CIP budget and grant applications. She holds degrees in political science and city planning from the University of California, Berkeley.

Erin Taylor - Senior Marketing Manager, 310.458.8257, ext. 2349
Erin Portrait Erin is responsible for brand management and elevating strategic priorities, resources and services to over 92,000 residents, 78,000 employees, and 9,200 businesses city-wide. Her recent experience includes partnering with large and small marketing agencies and hundreds of stakeholders organization-wide to design, develop, and implement a variety of grassroots and digital marketing programs for Girl Scouts of the USA. She has degrees in political science and communications from the American University in Washington D.C.

Constance Portrait Constance is responsible for social media, media relations and the weekly message. If a reporter contacts you directly, please reach out to Constance to coordinate. Constance came to the City from the nonprofit Alliance for Children’s Rights where she served as its communications director. She has degrees in communications and public administration

Russ is responsible for CityTV operations, which includes managing CityTV staff, program content on the City's four cable television channels, and oversight of all video production projects. Before joining the city, Russ spent time with Entercom/CBS Radio in Los Angeles and was the Director of Programming and Operations for WICR-FM and UIndy Television at the University of Indianapolis. He has degree in Radio/TV and English from Butler University and a Master's Degree in Radio/TV/Film from Indiana State University
