Beach Activities & Attractions

Accessibility

Beach_AccessibleWalkway   Santa Monica has several wooden pathways from the parking lots to the sand to provide beach access to individuals with disabilities. Additionally, all-terrain wheelchairs are available at no charge and can be checked out at various locations found here. Accessible pathways located at:
  • Annenberg Community Beach House
  • Montana Ave (Coming Fall 2017)
  • Arizona Ave
  • Immediately North of the Pier
  • Bay Street
  • Ocean Park Blvd.
  • Ashland Ave


Annenberg Community Beach House

Beach_AnnenbergAtNight   A public facility on the beach offering the beach club experience to all, no membership required. Low or no-cost fitness classes, recreation programs and cultural events are offered year-round.

Located at 415 Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica, CA 90402. Click here to check out all that that Beach House has to offer. 


Beach Volleyball

Beach_Volleyball   Sand volleyball courts are located at various locations north and south of the Pier. Courts are available to the public every day on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Bike Path

Beach_BikePath2   The beach bike path in Santa Monica stretches approximately 3 miles from Will Rogers State Beach to the north and Venice Beach to the south. The bike path runs parallel to an adjacent pedestrian path way.


Muscle Beach

Beach_MuscleBeachRings   During the 1930s, 40s and 50s, acrobats, muscle men and bathing beauties at the original Muscle Beach located just south of the Santa Monica Pier drew huge crowds. Athletic equipment like rings, parallel bars, balance bars & more available at no charge. The original Muscle Beach is located on Ocean Front Walk, south of Santa Monica Pier.

Beach_SantaMonicaPier   Enjoy the views from Pacific Park's solar-powered Ferris Wheel, check out Heal the Bay's Aquarium, take a ride on the historic 1922 carousel or grab something to eat at one of the many restaurants and food stands.Click here for more info.
