Virginia Ave Park Youth Programs

After School at Virginia Ave Park: Grades 1 - 5

Virginia Avenue Park offers a wide range of elementary programs throughout the year for those in Grades 1-5, ranging from games, sports, crafts, outdoor activities, homework assistance and special events.

Homework Assistance & Computer Club

Virginia Avenue Park is the place to do your homework! A quiet area, supplies and friendly staff are available to assist students with their homework. A computer lab is also available for research, homework and educational games. Please note that this is not a tutoring program.

After School Adventures

After a long day of school and homework, those in Grades 1-5 can come and unwind at Virginia Avenue Park's After School Adventures. Children are welcomed to come and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of adventures that range from: games, literacy, arts & crafts, science, cooking and outdoor recreation.

Fun Friday

Join us every Friday for a variety of fun activities that include: Family trips, family dinner nights, movie nights and much more!

Enrichment & Cultural Classes

Each season we offer new cultural arts classes including, theater arts, science, cooking, yoga, sports and more.


Virginia Avenue Park Elementary Programs are for those in Grades 1-5 and live or go to school in Santa Monica. Space is limited. Parents/guardians are responsible for transportation to and from the program. Children enrolled in homework assistance must attend a minimum of 3 days per week to remain in the program.

Teen Center

Virginia Avenue Park's Teen Center offers a variety of free classes and activities year round for those in grades 6-12th. Recreational, academic assistance, cultural arts, field trips are all part of the great programming available. Teen Center is equipped with computers for those looking to do research or type homework assignments.

Homework Assistance

A quiet place for working on assignments and receive help.  Our facility has a library of school text books available at the designated homework room, computer lab and homework help.

Computer Center

The Computer Lab is equipped with computers for youth to conduct research and type homework assignments.

    3:30pm - 6:00pm


Participate in a variety of active sport activities such as golf, basketball and more.  Youth must be enrolled in a Teen Center activity to participate in Recreation.

    1:30pm - 9:30pm

Fridays at the Teen Center

Friday activities include, but are not limited to: pizza nights, sports tournaments, movie nights and much more.

  • Fridays from 1:00pm - 8:00pm

Artists in Residence

The Artists in Residence program at the Teen Center is a popular Art Program that offers youth opportunities to explore and participate in a variety of art based classes.
