Special workshop: Kati is back for only one date in May! Overlooking the Ocean in our beautiful space, we invite you to join our vibrant community and enjoy your progress. This class accomodates different levels of dancers. Dance and have fun with or without a partner: Kati breaks down authentic, fun Cuban salsa style moves to help you bring flavor to your social dance. This class is not only about learning Casino (Cuban style salsa) moves and turns - Kati and her partners really focus on leading and following techniques, as well as bringing back the essence of Rueda and how to dance Rueda de Casino safely. Finally, you will take home musicality and dance drills that will help you grow as a dancer in this complex and beautiful form of dance.

By Train: Metro terminus at 4th St/Colorado, 4 blocks away. Upon exiting the station go west on Colorado to Ocean Ave, cross the street to the Pier and turn right. We're in the park just past Broadway.

Parking: Under $2 for the first 2.5 hours in Parking Structure 6 (1431 2nd Street between Broadway and Santa Monica). On weekends at the Civic Auditorium lot at 1855 Main St it's $5 all day except during special events. Pier Deck: $10-15/day; Beach Lot 1N just north of the Pier $6-12/day. Kati’s knowledge of dance and choreography makes her a highly sought-after performer both nationally and internationally. A native of Cuba, Kati grew up surrounded by the sounds of the drum and the Afro-Cuban tradition. Her dance studies included folkloric, popular, modern, ballet, choreography, composition and staging. Her earlier performances include the Havana International Jazz Festival with Cuban stars such as Bobby Carcases and Chucho Valdez and the Bienal Internacional de la Habana with Afro-Cuban music and performance icon Mercedita Valdez and visual artist Manuel Mendive. Eager to spread the roots of Cuban Dance, she is now the co-founder of Afro-Timba, a dance fitness program that she is currently touring nationwide along with her on training dance Program “Oricha Therapy” and “Kati’s Cuban Dance Map”. Chreographer and artistic director of Kimbambula Production and Pa' La Orilla Cuban dance Ensamble. Kati is known for her unique teaching techniques, her vibrant energy and flavor on the dance floor. Her work is a true illustration of her heritage and an endless celebration of Cuban dance and music.

In Person: Advance registration accepted at 1450 Ocean between 9am-5pm M-F & 11am-4pm Sat. Dropping in? Call 310-458-2239 to confirm availability, preferably by the Tuesday before class starts; plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of class; many classes do not allow drop Ins.

Refunds/Transfers: Full refunds are given if class is cancelled before taking place - enroll online with confidence. For student withdrawals for any other reason, $15 processing fee for each multisession activity refunded; one-time classes & expended material fees are nonrefundable. Requests must be made in person, by mail, fax (310-899-0840), or email to within 24 hours of first class meeting. All class dates, times, locations, and instructors are subject to change.
