Walkway Construction - Administration building

Walkway Construction

Please note the following upcoming Airport Administration Building maintenance projects. Please make sure your employees/tenants/clients/customers/visitors are informed of any restrictions.

Second Floor Exterior Tile Replacement: The City of Santa Monica has contracted to remove and replace the tiles on the second floor exterior south walkway. This project will take approximately three weeks. The demo portion will take place this Friday and Saturday, Aug 25-26 from approximately 7:00am to 5:00pm; waterproofing will be performed the week of Aug 28 and new tiles will be laid the weeks of Sept 4 and Sept 11. There will be noise associated with the demo work; City staff scheduled as much work as was possible during the weekend to cause the least amount of disruption.

During this improvement project, the second floor tile walkway and adjacent restrooms will be closed. You can access the second floor (City offices, vending machines, view deck, etc.) via the City’s ground floor interior stairs (during regular business hours), the east parking lot stairs, or by taking the elevator to the third floor and using the sky deck/north stairs to the second floor. The Green Roof/Garden will be open but there will be no thru traffic.

If any ADA access is required, please reach out to our office at (310) 458-8591 prior to arriving to the Airport and we will make arrangements to make sure you have access to the observation deck. Please note that the elevator will only have access to the third floor of the administration office, no access to the second floor will be allowed.

Ground Floor Courtyard Window Caulking: The City of Santa Monica has contracted with Economy Glass to caulk/seal the exterior of the Courtyard windows beginning next Monday, August 28. This project will take approximately three days. No access to tenant’s spaces is anticipated.
Feel free to call Phillip at (310) 458-2168 or the Airport Properties line at (310) 458-8772 if you have any questions. We appreciate your patience while we complete these necessary improvement projects.
