Film and Photography

All commercial filming and still photography on Airport property requires a film permit. Strictly personal photography (non-commercial and not-for-distribution) is allowed without a permit, in Public access areas only.

All film permit applications should be submitted to Film L.A. at least 5 business days before the first day of filming:  Film L.A. Film and Photography Online Permit System. For more information, please contact the Film L.A. Production Office at 213-977-8600.

Events

All events of any size must be reported to the Airport Administration office at lease two weeks prior to the event date. All events on Airport property with more than 150 anticipated participants require a permit. An Event Permit Application and related documents must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event to allow for review and approval by other City departments.  Event planners should contact venues directly to ensure availability prior to submitting an application.  Santa Monica Airport Event Permit Fee is $530.45
