Multi-Family Refuse Collection Services
The City of Santa Monica’s Solid Waste Management Division provides refuse and
recycling services to residential customers. Container sizes available for
refuse collection to single-family homes and multi-family residences are: 68,
95, and 300-gallon containers. The fees vary according to the frequency of
service and the number and size of containers that are being serviced. The
standard single-family residential service level for refuse is once weekly.
Multi-family apartments and condominiums are provided with 300 gallon
containers or bin service. Service is usually collected in the alley, or in some
circumstances bins are brought to the alley from underground bin areas to be
serviced in the alley or street.
