The Santa Monica Teen Film Festival is an interdepartmental initiative between the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division, the Santa Monica Public Library, the Virginia Avenue Park Teen Center and City TV. Its purpose is to showcase and provide an outlet for the creative talents of teen filmmakers, as well as encourage youth to use the art of filmmaking as a form of creative expression and commentary on the world in which they live. Although the festival is open to films by teens from around the globe, the public screenings take place in Santa Monica. You do not need to be present at screenings to win an award.Love film? Come see a cross section of exciting short films from past years. We announce all selected films on Monday April 2nd, 2012, and will follow that up with screenings (see details to the right).
