989 - Utility Users' Tax - Exemption for Senior Citizens

The City of Santa Monica levies a 10% tax on electricity, natural gas, telephones, cable television, water and sewer charges.

An exemption to this tax is available to qualified senior citizens. To inquire about the Senior Citizens Exemption Program, please call the Senior Center at (310) 458-8644. The center is located at 1450 Ocean Avenue, and staff there can assist qualified residents with the application process.
