808 - Fingerprinting for Adults

The City of Santa Monica Police Department offers adult "Live-Scan" fingerprinting services for job applicants, licensing, teaching and other types of jobs requiring "Live-Scan" fingerprints. We no longer fingerprint with ink, we cannot fingerprint for citizenship, nor can we fingerprint children under the age of 18.

Live Scan Fingerprinting is offered Monday – Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and on Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. We are not open on holidays. Live Scan Services are available on a walk-in basis only, first-come, first-served.

The cost for Live Scan includes a rolling fee of $24, plus an applicable FBI fee of $24 and a Department of Justice fee of $32. All rates are subject to change. There may be additional charges depending on the type of application process required. You will be advised of the cost once you arrive for your Live Scan.

The process takes 10 to 15 minutes per person and is conducted at the Public Safety Facility, 333 Olympic Drive on the first floor in the lobby area. For more information you may call (310) 458-8435, or visit www.santamonicapd.org and click on the Information and Services link.
