Both the Santa Monica Public Library and the Friends of the Library offer volunteer opportunities. Library volunteer opportunities include the Shut-In Service, Santa Monica READS adult literacy program, Tuesdays with Books, Computer Docents, and more. Working to promote library services, the Friends of the Santa Monica Public Library organizes free public events, raise money, and sponsor a variety of library activities. Friends' members receive a monthly Calendar of Events by mail and invitations to book sale previews, and other special programs. To join the Friends of the Library, please call (310) 458-8600. After hours, you may leave a message and your call will be returned on the next business day.
