In addition, the economic development division administers city-owned commercial properties and provides information and referrals on local real estate. The city's successful marketing efforts include the Santa Monica Pier, Bergamot Station, and the Third Street Promenade.

The economic development program for the Santa Monica area is coordinated by the city's Housing and Economic Development Department, Economic Development Division, located at the Santa Monica Airport.
