Santa Monica State Beach
Bike Path
The beach bike path in Santa Monica, which is heavily
used and especially popular in the busy summer
months, stretches approximately 5.2 miles from
Will Rogers State Beach to the north and Venice
Beach to the south.
As you enter Santa Monica
from Venice at the southern end (near Marine
Street), the bike path runs parallel to an
adjacent pedestrian path way. Continuing north,
as you approach Bicknell Avenue, the paths are
more clearly separated. The pedestrian path, or
Ocean Front Walk, veers to the east while the
bike path veers west and runs closer to the
ocean. The bike path continues north under the
Santa Monica Pier, along the 1550 PCH beach
parking lot, to Will Rogers State Beach.
With the high level of
activity on both the pedestrian and bike
pathways, the following laws have been adopted
to ensure the maximum enjoyment and greatest
safety of all persons using these amenities.
