Santa Monica's open space system includes
245 acres of
state beach
and 26 community
parks. The Open Space Management Division
of the Community & Cultural Services
Department encourages the enjoyment of the
City's parks and beaches through policy
development and coordination of all park and
beach-based services. The division oversees
beach contract services (e.g., beach
concessions and lifeguard services) and
issues permits for all
community events.
NEW! The City is seeking responses
from qualified candidates
interested in developing a comprehensive and
innovative
signage and wayfinding system
for Santa Monica's parks system and the
beach.
