Peter Fletcher in Concert at the Santa Monica Public Library

Santa Monica, California – Our own favorite classical guitarist from New York returns to Santa Monica on Tuesday evening, May 20th at 7:00 p.m.  Join us for this great evening of music, when Peter Fletcher’s wizardly fingers fly across the frets of his guitar and fill the MLK, Jr. Auditorium with beautiful sounds.  His program includes pieces from G. F. Handel, J.S. Bach and L.A.’s own Andrew York, to name just a few.  And it’s no joke, last month, Tuesday April 1st, he performed again at Carnegie Hall.

This concert is free and seating is limited and on a first arrival basis.

PETER FLETCHER began guitar study at the age of seven under classical guitar instructor, John Sutherland. In December, 1983, he made his formal debut at the age of fifteen under the auspices of The Brasstown Concert Association in North Carolina.  He made his New York Debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in February 2007, and returned in April 2008.  States Steven Rings from The American Record Guide:

“The works all sit very nicely on the guitar, and Fletcher’s performances are taut and incisive, counteracting the common tendency to play Satie’s music like sleepy New Age.”
