Community Forest Renewal Program and discussion of the Carob Tree Assessment & Replacement Project.

A panel composed of city staff and experts in the field of urban forestry will discuss best management practices
and take your questions on the recent Carob tree assessment, and the upcoming removal and replacement project.

As part of the FY 07/08 Community Forest Renewal Program, staff conducted a study of mature carob trees throughout the city.  The objective was to determine their health, viability and any risk that could be associated with declining condition.  Three hundred trees were found to have a substantial risk level.  Here is some helpful background information you may wish to read before the meeting:
