FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Santa Monica Public Library is pleased to present a free screening of Wrestling with Angels: Playwright Tony Kushner on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at 6:45 p.m. in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s writer-director-producer, Freida Lee Mock. Wrestling With Angels is a feature documentary film on Pulitzer and Tony award-winning playwright Tony Kushner (Angels in America, Caroline or Change). It tells the story of the evolution of an artist and of how Kushner, raised in the Deep South in Lake Charles, Louisiana, would become an outspoken activist, a compassionate spokesperson for outsiders and one of today’s most entertaining and important playwrights. This free public program is open to all ages. Auditorium seating is limited, and seating is on a first-arrival basis. For more information, contact the Santa Monica Public Library at (310) 458-8600; or visit the Library’s website at www.smpl.org.
