SANTA MONICA PUBLIC LIBRARY PRESENTS NOVEMBER HEALTH PROGRAMS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Santa Monica Public Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard, presents two health programs during November: Four Preventable Causes of Heart Disease with Dr. Michael Hollis on Saturday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m., and Overcoming Emotional Eating with Julie Simon on Sunday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m. Both programs are held in the in the Main Library’s multipurpose room According to the CDC, heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States among both men and women. Dr. Hollis helps you identify if you are truly at risk, and how you can prevent heart disease naturally. Many patients are concerned about taking statins for cholesterol or blood pressure medications; Dr. Hollis can teach you safe alternatives to medication. He’ll also dispel several myths about how diet affects heart health and cholesterol. Learn how to break the cycle of overeating during this holiday season. Licensed therapist Julie Simon will teach how to identify imbalances that lead to overeating and recognize emotional eating patterns. These programs are free and open to the public.
