FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Fairview Branch of the Santa Monica Public Library is pleased to present "Pagan Paris and Sacred Feminine Artifacts of the Louvre Museum" on Tuesday, October 9, and "Organic Weed and Pest Control" on Saturday, October 13. Karen Tate, Venice resident and author of Sacred Places of Goddess, will explore ancient practices of goddess worship in this visual tour of Paris and the Louvre Museum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9. A prolific writer, published author and tour organizer, Ms. Tate’s most recent work blends her experiences of women-centered multiculturalism evident in archaeology, anthropology and mythology with her unique literary talents and travel experience throughout the world. Karen's particular emphasis is on the roles of women and the study of comparative religions and ancient cultures in a modern or reconstructed context. On Saturday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m., Edwin ZumAllen will offer a workshop on natural gardening methods. Learn how to garden organically and minimize weeds and pests without the use of chemicals. Mr. ZumAllen has taught natural gardening workshops in Sedona and Verde Valley, Arizona. He has a particular interest in vegetable gardening. The Fairview branch is located at 2101 Ocean Park Boulevard in Santa Monica and both events are free and open to the public. No advance reservation is required.
