FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE It’s no mystery that readers can receive prizes for the time they spend reading this summer! Beginning June 18, children ages 2 and up, and teens in grades 6 to 12 can sign up for the Santa Monica Public Library’s summer reading program. Children will receive prizes after reading (or being read to) for 5, 10 and 15 hours. Teens receive a prize for completing 30 hours of reading, raffle tickets to enter a grand prize drawing for great prizes, and an invitation to the end-of-summer teen party. This year, the theme is mysteries: Get a Clue @ Your Library, for children; and You Never Know @ Your Library, for teens. Sign up at the Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard, or any one of the branch locations. Free weekly activity programs for children ages 4 and up offered at the Main Library and all branch locations include puppet shows, stories, crafts, music and more. Teens can learn felting and other crafts, and enjoy movies and book discussions.
