AN EVENING WITH PAULA POUNDSTONE AT SMPL
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Santa Monica Public Library is pleased to present a special evening with stand-up comic, writer and mother, Paula Poundstone, on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at 7:00 p.m., in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard. Ms. Poundstone will present her hilarious, new stream-of-consciousness memoir, There’s Nothing In This Book I Meant To Say. In the book, she contrasts her tabloid travails and life story against the lives of seven historical figures, including Martin Luther King, Jr., Joan of Arc, Helen Keller and the Wright Brothers, and the results are, by turns, heart-rending and laugh-out-loud funny. A book sale and signing will follow Ms. Poundstone’s presentation. This special Library event is free and open to the public. Auditorium seating is limited and on a first arrival basis. Tickets for Auditorium seating will be available one hour prior to the program. No prior reservations are available. For more information on this and other Library programs, please call (310) 458-8600 or visit www.smpl.org. ### | |
