POET CAROL V. DAVIS FEATURED AT SMPL ON APRIL 5

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE In celebration of April as National Poetry Month, the Santa Monica Public Library features "Carol V. Davis Reads Her Poetry: From Russia and Beyond," on Thursday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard. This award-winning poet and Santa Monica College instructor reads from her poetry and talks about her experiences as a Fulbright scholar and teacher in Russia. Some of her works will be read in Russian. Recipient of the 2007 T. S. Eliot Prize, Carol V. Davis’ poems have appeared in journals and anthologies in many countries, including Ireland, Sweden, Israel and Australia. Her poetry has been featured on National Public Radio and on Radio Russia. She is the author of several books of poetry, including It’s Time to Talk and the forthcoming Into the Arms of Pushkin: Poems of St. Petersburg. This program is free and open to the public.
