FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Khaled Hosseini, author of The Kite Runner, will appear at the Santa Monica College Pavilion (Gym), 1900 Pico Boulevard, on Saturday, May 21 at 4:00 p.m. Afghan-American physician Khaled Hosseini’s novel is an epic tale of fathers and sons, loyalty and betrayal, set against a backdrop of Afghanistan’s history over the past 40 years. The bestselling novel has captivated readers across the country and is currently the featured book for Santa Monica Citywide Reads. Born in Kabul, Dr. Hosseini was granted political asylum in America as a young man; and his own story is as riveting as the tale he weaves in his debut novel. “Khaled Hosseini: In Conversation,” features the author reading and discussing his critically-acclaimed novel, followed by question-and-answer and a book sale and signing. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Santa Monica Public Library and the Santa Monica College Associates, this author presentation is open to the community and admission is free, with seating on a first arrival basis.
