  • A DUSK-TO-DAWN EVENT ON THE SANTA MONICA BEACH AND PIER, SATURDAY, JULY 19 FROM 7 P.M. TO 7 A.M.

    Glow will fill the hours between dusk to dawn with compelling, enchanting and effervescent sights and sounds situated in spaces and times that expand possibilities for where, how and when the public experiences contemporary art. 

    With the historic Santa Monica Pier and adjacent world-famous Santa Monica Beach as their space, artists will be commissioned to create unique and inviting works of art that welcome the public to be both audience and actor for twelve celebratory hours. Inspired by the wildly successful Nuit Blanche in Paris, Glow takes its spirit from the fabled grunion that live in local waters and come ashore several times a year to spawn in the sand creating a momentary sensation of iridescence...   • TWILIGHT DANCE SERIES CONTINUES THROUGH AUGUST!

The Santa Monica Pier Twilight Dance Series will present three premieres, a 30-year reunion and ten weeks of summer fun in its 24th season!  Every Thursday at 7 p.m., the Pier offers the best in eclectic and worldly rock, pop, jazz and blues will carry us through to August 28th’s closing concert, a full evening with Reggae pioneer Toots & the Maytals More information and lineup...

  • The LUCE Strategy Framework is online at the Shape the Future 2025 project website, www.shapethefuture2025.net.  The LUCE Strategy Framework encompasses the community’s vision for the City’s future.  The Planning Commission held a series of public hearings and will present the Strategy Framework to Council in June.
