It's Your Call: Homelessness in Our Community The CityTV production It’s Your Call: Homelessness in Our Community returns to the airwaves! In early 2007 City staff, in conjunction with the Westside Shelter & Hunger Coalition and the Los Angeles Central Providers Collaborative, launched this new CityTV call-in show about the regional problem of homelessness.  Tune in to CityTV16 at 8:00 p.m. on May 28 to learn from highly-regarded guest speakers about the issue of homelessness, the challenges to solving this crisis and many of the innovative solutions being developed.  Call in to speak directly to the guests in order to present your opinions on this issue! Action Plan for Addressing Homelessness in Santa Monica On February 26th, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica approved an Action Plan for Addressing Homelessness in Santa Monica and the Annual Review of the City’s Plan for Homeless Services for FY 2006-07. Service Registry of Homeless People; Ten Most Vulnerable People to be Housed City departments and local homeless service agencies participated in a multi-day street count and survey to assess the most vulnerable members of the City's homeless population.  The ten most vulnerable will be housed as quickly as possible. Santa Monica Homeless Community Court The Santa Monica Homeless Community Court is an innovative pilot project spearheaded by Ed Edelman, Santa Monica's Special Representative for Homeless Initiatives, and one of the City's newest tools to address homelessness.  At the monthly Homeless Court session, the Superior Court Judge hears from service providers regarding each clients' progress toward moving off of the street, and takes this into consideration along with other factors in adjudicating the case. Between February and November 2007, 70 individuals have participated in the Santa Monica Homeless Community Court project.
