Girls & boys in grades K-8 can get a great workout & learn teamwork, sportsmanship and new skills in our sports clubs and leagues!  Offered at Edison, Franklin, Grant, JAMS, Lincoln, McKinley, Muir/SMASH, Rogers & Roosevelt.
 

 

FALL 2008 PRACTICE TIMES

            ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SPORTS

VOLLEYBALL & FLAG FOOTBALL - SUPERSTARS (Grade K):
Mondays, from dismissal to 3:00 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL & FLAG FOOTBALL - ROOKIES (Grades 1-2):
Mondays, 3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL & FLAG FOOTBALL (3RD & 4TH GRADES):
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL & FLAG FOOTBALL (5TH GRADE):
Wednesdays and Fridays, 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.


                MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS

VOLLEYBALL & FLAG FOOTBALL (6TH GRADE):
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:15 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL & FLAG FOOTBALL (7TH-8TH GRADES):
Wednesdays and Fridays, 3:15 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
 

 

PER SESSION FEES

GRADES: K-2 3-5 6-8
FEES: $65 $70 $80
WITH CHILD CARE:* $60 $65 N/A

*Child must be enrolled in full-time CREST Childcare to receive discounted fee (not applicable with financial assistance).  Financial assistance (25-75% fee reduction) is available to qualifying low and moderate-income families.  For more information, please call the Youth Office at (310) 458-8540.

SPORTSMANSHIP
The City of Santa Monica promotes sportsmanship in youth sports leagues with two awards:

  • Courage and Leadership Award winnersCOURAGE AND LEADERSHIP -   Awarded to the one player from each team who exemplifies all the core values of good sportsmanship.  Weekly nominations are made by each individual player per team.  Players may not vote for themselves.  The player with the most peer nominations is named the winner
     

  • Victory with Honor Award winnersVICTORY WITH HONOR - At each game, parents, players and the coach are given points for their positive support of their team.  Points are deducted for poor sportsmanship.  The team with the most points at the end of the season is named the winner.
