Responses to Questions Regarding the Request for Proposals

Last Update: December 18, 2007

Please provide a list of the agencies currently funded through the Community Development, Cultural/Arts Organizational Support and Community Arts Grants Programs.

Follow the links to listings of 2007-2010 Community Development Grantees (Human Services Division), and Cultural Affairs Division Grantees.

Does the applicant need to be a nonprofit?  Can the lead applicant partner with for-profit agencies?

All applicants must be nonprofit agencies.  Agencies wishing to use the services of a for-profit agency may hire the agency to provide services related to the proposed project, but all applicants (lead and partner) must be nonprofit agencies.

What is the expected end-date of the project?

At this time, there is no specified completion date for the project.  However, the project timeline should reasonably reflect the fact that this is one-time funding and should contain an anticipated date of completion for the creation of the marketing campaign.

If the applicant is a collaborative of agencies, how do we describe the "Board of Directors"?

The lead agency, which must be a nonprofit agency, should describe their own Board of Directors in the appropriate section.  The lead agency is the "applicant".  The Boards of Directors of other collaborating agencies may be described as well, if desired.

Does the match funding have to be cash or is it acceptable to use staff time as in-kind contributions?

Match resources may include new in-kind goods or professional services designated specifically for this project (e.g. printing services, graphic design hours, tape stock).  Staff time may be used if it is specifically newly allocated to this marketing/outreach project.

If I use cash to meet my match requirement, does my agency need to have the full match amount available at the time of application?

Projected match resources are acceptable and should be shown in the Projected Amount/Value column in Section III of the Project Budget.  Applicants will be expected to find new sources of match should these projected resources not become available.
