APPLICATION PROCEDURES

FARMERS PREPARED FOOD RETAIL / ARTISTS ENTERTAINMENT

Santa Monica Farmers Markets are certified farmers markets operating in accordance with regulations established in the California Administrative Code, Title 3, Chapter 3, Group 4, Article 6.5, Direct Marketing and the Santa Monica Farmers Market Rules and Regulations.

The City of Santa Monica Farmers Market policy is to give preference to producers and vendors who utilize practices and philosophies in line with our the Mission, vision and values.

FARMERS
How to apply for a selling space at the Santa Monica Farmers Markets

All products must be grown in California.  Only consider vendors who are PRODUCERS of the agricultural products (fruits, vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, nuts, honey, flowers, meats, poultry, eggs and dairy products) they wish to sell will be considered.  Additionally, in order to sell agricultural products at any of the Santa Monica Farmers Markets you must be certified by the California Department of Food and Agriculture and have a current Certified Producers Certificate (CPC). 

We currently have no stall space open for farmers. If you would like to be added to our waiting list, please mail or fax your CPC to:

CPCs will stay on the waiting list for one year or until a need for the listed products arises (which ever comes first).

Farmers pay 4.5% of their sales in stall fees.
 


PREPARED FOOD
How to apply for a selling space at the Santa Monica Farmers Markets

Prepared and processed foods are sold at all four farmers markets in Santa Monica.  Prepared foods include foods prepared onsite for consumption such as roasted corn, tamales, pancakes, etc.  Processed foods are prepared off site and are typically packaged and brought to the market for sale these foods include pies, bread, confections, granola just to name a few. 

We currently have no openings for prepared or processed food vendors.  Booth space is opens periodically for applications.  Currently no date has been set for the next application period, however when the application period opens the Request for Proposal will be posted here on our website.  Check back again soon.

Prepared food booths range from $35 - $150 per market day.

 


RETAIL / ARTISTS

The Sunday Main Street Farmer Market is the only Farmers Market in Santa Monica with a retail section.  The retail section is a partnership with the local business district and as such is only open to businesses in the Main Street Improvement district

If you are a Main Street Improvement district business and would like to participate, please contact the Main Street Business Improvement Association at 310.899.9555.

 


ENTERTAINMENT

The Sunday Main Street Farmer Market is the only Farmers Market in Santa Monica with an entertainment section.  Bands may apply annually in April to perform for the following fiscal year (June - July). 

 

Application month April of each year, please check back in April 2009 the application.

Band rate:  $250.00 for bands, & $125.00 for solo performances (per gig)

The Santa Monica Farmers' Markets are dedicated to promoting healthy eating and sustainable agriculture in California by providing fresh agricultural products from small farms to urban customers thereby building community and preserving California farmland.
