How to Discontinue Service

If you wish to discontinue water, sewer, or refuse service with the City of Santa Monica's Water Resources Division, a "Discontinuance of Service" form must be filled out and either faxed or delivered in person to the Water Resources Business Office at 1212 5th Street, Third Floor. The water meter will be read on the date indicated on the form and a closing bill will be mailed to the forwarding address provided. It is very important to properly discontinue service as you will be responsible for the bill until the form is filed with the Water Resources Division or a new customer signs up for service.
