Much of the resources brought to bear in our community are directed toward the making and maintaining of buildings – the buildings in which we live, work, learn and shop. Buildings can be designed in ways that make them more pleasant to inhabit, more energy and water efficient, and less toxic, among many other beneficial environmental factors.

Pre-submittal Review

All projects are entitled to a pre-submittal review of preliminary plans. Prior to formal building permit application all departments involved in the formal plan check process will review early-stage building plans and provide feedback on potential compliance issues. Any potential issues identified by the various reviewers are communicated to project representatives during a one-hour review meeting. Green building code compliance is one of the areas reviewed.
