School Recycling: What to Recycle

Santa Monica schools generate all types of waste materials, big and small, that can be readily recycled without trouble. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: recycling is the last step of a process:

  • First, we want to reduce waste or the potential for waste.  That means purchasing quality items that are designed and built to last, are made of recycled content, and can be recycled at the end of their life.
  • Second, we want to reuse or donate unwanted items or materials as much as possible.
  • Lastly, after all of that has been accomplished, we recycle our waste.

Please take a moment to review the table below for the various materials that can be recycled by your school.  You may be surprised to find something new listed.  If you want to get started or improve upon what program you already have in place email us.
