The Garden Sharing Registry is up and running! This program connects Santa Monica homeowners who have yard space to grow with Santa Monica gardeners who love to garden but need land to grow. The City maintains the list of potential gardeners and provides the list to homeowners when they register for the program. The homeowner in turn makes contact with the gardener and the two parties work together to make that perfect match!

Specific details of how the partnership will work are arranged between the homeowner and gardener and may include:

Days and times gardening on the property can occur.
Types of plants, vegetables, and flowers to be planted.
Sharing of costs associated with seeds, supplies, etc.
Potential storage of gardening supplies on the property.
Length of commitment.
How the crop is to be shared.

Homeowners are required to provide the land and water. The program is designed to encourage gardening partnerships. Routine yard/lawn maintenance is not included.
