Welcome to ePlans Santa Monica

ePlans offers flexibility to citizens, architects, and developers who collaborate with The City of Santa Monica on entitlement, engineering and construction plan sets and documents. In addition to enhancing customer service and communication, this online system offers financial benefits by reducing paper use, printing and storage costs, drive time, and gasoline consumption.
 

Here’s how ePlans works

When a project application is submitted to the City of Santa Monica, an electronic project is created. The applicant will be invited to the project via email with instructions to log in, upload and/or review plans or documents in the ePlans system.

Steps to submit your plan check application:

1. Download the Plan Check/Permit Application and fill it out. (to get Adobe Reader click here. )
   
2. Submit the application as an attachment by email to eplans@smgov.net
   
3. Please allow 24 hours (1 business day) for us to process your application. As soon as it has been processed, you will receive an invitation via email on how to proceed with your project. If you do not receive an invitation from DO_NOT_REPLY@santa-monica.org within this timeline, please check your junk email folder.
