Closed Session – There were no reportable items from the Closed Session.
Council allocated $12,000, or such amount as the council deems appropriate, to facilitate travel expenses for the Santa Monica High School's SAGE (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) team, that will be competing for the International World Cup to be held in Nigeria in July, 2008.
Land Use and Circulation Element (LUCE) Strategy Framework – Council received a summary and discussed the Planning Commission’s recommendations supporting the strategy framework. Council also discussed the framework for the major boulevards, Wilshire, Santa Monica, Braodway, Pico, Ocean Park and Lincoln.
ADJOURNMENT AND NEXT MEETING - The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 in memory of Jane Sure, Jane was a long time member of the Commission for Older Americans serving both as Chair and Vice Chair, and a member of League of Women Voters. The next meeting of the Santa Monica City Council is on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 beginning at 5:45 p.m. in the wheelchair-accessible Council Chamber at City Hall. Council meetings are aired live on CityTV Channel 16 and on the Netcast on the city's website and, for regularly scheduled meetings, from 8 p.m. to midnight on KCRW 89.9 FM.
