SUBJECT:     Ordinance Adding Chapter 4.65 to the Santa Monica Municipal Code Creating Minimum Wage Requirements Applicable to Certain Businesses Located in the Coastal Zone and Extended Downtown Core and to the City and its Service Contractors

 

Introduction

At its meeting on June 26, 2001, the City Council introduced for first reading an ordinance adding Chapter 4.65 to the Municipal Code creating minimum wage requirements applicable to certain businesses located in the Coastal Zone and extended Downtown Core and to the City and its service contractors. The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption.

Recommendation

Staff recommends that the Council adopt the attached ordinance.
